The Chocolate Rabbit
The Webster family took over The Chocolate Rabbit Lakefield when previous owner Lois had decided to retire in 2021. Lois had wanted to pass the torch of her pride and joy to a local family to continue her legacy.
The Webster family consists of 5 members; Elaine, Scot and their three kids Nicole, Dylan and Kristine. With the addition of the grandkids Danika and Eisen.
Elaine & Scot are the head bunnies and the main chocolatiers. All the chocolate you see in their stores is all made by hand by the family (other than the dietetic currently). In 2022 they expanded The Chocolate Rabbit by adding a second location in Bancroft in the old Fudge Factory. They inherited the fudge recipes from the previous family and now make homemade fudge that is offered at both locations as well. Elaine and Scot also own and operate two other local businesses in Lakefield. Perfect Balance Accounting and Grumpa's Woodworking. Perfect Balance Accounting has been owned and operated by the Webster couple for over 30+ years starting in Salt Spring Island, BC a few other places in the GTA to finding its permanent home in Lakefield where they have called their main location for 7+ years now. Scot followed in his fathers footsteps with woodworking and created Grumpa's Woodworking back in 2021. He specializes in live edge wood and epoxy creations. The name "Grumpa" is in exchange for grandpa as Scot has a tendency to look grumpy even though he is not. Not only do the kids enjoy calling him Grumpa but Scot is proud to have this title.
